Issue 168: Package installer fails to find fdisk440

Reported by blackosx, Aug 31, 2011

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Run package installer and choose target partition
2. Choose Standard install
3. Click Customize and tick various options.
4. Click Install

Expected result:
Installation Success

Actual result:
The installation failed.

Looking at the log I can see fdisk440: command not found

I've attached the installer log.

I've corrected the issue in my branch.
http://forge.voodooprojects.org/p/chameleon/source/commit/1492/

But next issue now is there's a problem with the
org.chameleon.Boot.plist not being created?

Hi Blackosx
Azimutz do a "similar" fix for fdisk440
in his sub-branch
http://forge.voodooprojects.org/svn/chameleon/branches/azimutz/Packag
e

Take a look...

Hi Fabio

I've just compiled and tested the package installer from Azi's
branch
http://forge.voodooprojects.org/p/chameleon/source/tree/HEAD/branches
/azimutz/Package

It fails. Same as the package installer in the trunk.

The package installer in my branch now runs and complete
successfully.

I will try it...
Just confused about "looking for c.a.B.p instead of
org.chameleon.Boot.plist" into all your edited postinstall
script...

Anyway if the "fdisk440" is fix can we merge it?
Regards and THX!

k.

Try it and if it works for you then go ahead and merge it to trunk,
as for me it's better than what we have there currently.

The changes in rev 1494 look for 'plist' which is defined in the
lines above as being /Volumes/xxxx/Extra/org.chameleon.boot.plist.
If not found it creates org.chameleon.boot.plist from
/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist.
