Issue 64: Cannot boot past the point where SMBios.plist is read

Reported by Fumo Mofu, Feb 20, 2011

I tried booting from CD on two computers and I could not get past
the point where SMBios.plist is being read. Then I tried booting
from an external hard drive on another computer and the same problem
occurred. However, if I boot from an internal hard drive, the
problem does not occur. I have only tested this using meklort's
branch.

You need to include AHCIPortInjector.kext, ATAPortInjector.kext,
IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector.kext,and JMicronATAInjector.kext in
/Extra/Extensions/Common/ folder to solve these problems.

Excuse me? This is unrelated to kexts.

The computer booting from the external hard drive and one of the
ones booting from CD magically work…the other still does not.

Hm…I think it gets stuck in scan_mem.

Recently there have been a lot of changes with things like scan_mem.

Do you still have this issue with trunk?
