Reopening this issue; i can't verify if the fix for the original issue worked, because it seems to have caused another?! Now i can only type one character; cursor keeps blinking but can't type anything; even ctrl+alt+del doesn't work. This happens while booting with GUI=n; if i boot with GUI enabled and use TAB to change to TEXT MODE, typing works fine and allows booting.

More news on this. Resuming: - while booting with GUI=n, only one character can be typed into the prompt; after that the keyboard is useless. - while booting with GUI enabled and using Tab to change to TEXT MODE, everything works properly. - while booting with GUI enabled, typing at the prompt works fine until there's the need to correct something; just try deleting a character and continue typing to see the result. Note: i reopened this issue assuming that what i'm reporting is related; if not, feel free to close it again and i'll open a new one. Thanks.

I probably won't be able to look into it for about a week + a half (after that I'll fix it if nobody else has by then).

This appears to be working w/ fixes from azimutz. But we need to check out getc and getchar

Cosmo, as far as i can test, it's in the same state, if not worse! I didn't even had time to start tracing this back; all i did was replace the getc functions on the DEBUG's so, i don't don't know what fixes are you talking about?? Anyway, all this stuff is starting to mess with my patience :-/ I'll get to you guys on irc when i get all my lose ends tied up.

Got same kind of issue with no graphics mode : you can't type anything, it blocks after one character. I had to reboot and boot without flag. rev 1020 compiled by myself from trunk Thanks!

Ok, since i was made owner of the issue, i'm going to take care of it, reverting revs 925/6 and 940 back, in a way that they'll be easy to reintegrate later.

wait.. dont' revert post the rev diffs and we can figure it out that way

Declaring "issue" fixed, though after looking at it closer, i don't really consider it an issue.
Comment 15 by Evan Lojewski, Jun 17, 2011
Like I mentioned before, I'll fix it once I get back to the US. Since It's been reverted, I'll do some more testing before I commit the changes + fixes back in.

Cosmo, Evan, sorry but i really needed the booter in reasonable working state. It's not even a question of "i"; this stuff is broken since May 30 and it's not the only problem with the prompt.. there are things broken for ages. Evan, i know you'll fix it; like i mentioned, i don't consider this an issue anymore.. it's unfinished work. Anyway, i didn't reverted it as in "removed it" and it was all done one commit so, it's pretty easy to get it back. Just tell me when you need it back and i'll do it; you don't need to lose time with that kind of stuff ;) I'll check with you guys on irc as soon as i get my Chazi up to date; i really need to get that done or my test setup is all broken.

I've added the changes back in and fixed the issue. Let me know if it doesn't work for you.
