For me is working good, are you sure you have boot in the "Boot OSX" hidden volume?

Miko, it could be the same problem I had, which ware related to how DSDT enumerated the SATA drives. What do you obtain from this command in Terminal bless --folder '/Volumes/Macintosh HD/System/Library/CoreServices' --bootefi --setboot --verbose

This should tell you if the proper partitions (the ones called "Boot OSX") are being "blessed". bless does the same as selecting the partition in Startup Disk.prefpane

I think I had the same issue as 'Me'. It is related to the IORegistry plane that 'bless' uses, which is not the same as the default one in IORegistryExplorer. Therefore everything looks fine in IORegistryExplorer, when in fact 'bless' only sees one disk. Fix is through DSDT (SATA device). Let me know if you need help with that.
