Comment 1 by Peter _sm, Jul 24, 2011

Added a new bdmesg result where Cham 1203 is installed.

Comment 2 by Peter _sm, Jul 24, 2011

Second try to attach the bdmesg file as above.

Comment 3 by Peter _sm, Jul 24, 2011

Hi, I forgot, there is also a issue when I shall restart the
computer, it tells me to hold down power button, this is not
happening on 1078, and this is only related to LION.

Comment 4 by Peter _sm, Jul 24, 2011

Added a bdmesg file from Cham 1078, where my WIFI card is working

Comment 5 by Azimutz, Jul 24, 2011

Peter, only now i saw this issue; check my answer on IM topic...
this is probably related with issue 123, or the other way around :P

Comment 6 by Evan Lojewski, Jul 25, 2011

Please try the latest version and see if this is still an issue.

FYI: With 1203, I did this "You need to delete
AirPortAtheros40.kext plugin under
/System/Library/Extensions/IO80211Family.kext/Contents/PlugIns"

When removing that kext I got WIFI worked, but I dont know If that
is the right way to fix my issue. ;-)

Comment 10 by Peter _sm, Jul 25, 2011

Good news is that the restart are working now :-)

I tested to boot with UseKernelCache=Yes, but is not finishing
booting, I have the spinning wheel......

Comment 11 by Peter _sm, Jul 25, 2011

By mistake I replaced AirPortAtheros40.kext instead of
IO80211Family.kext :-) :-) ;-)

I let you know later, I haver issue to boot in to lion right now ?

Comment 12 by Peter _sm, Jul 25, 2011

Ok,

This is Funny/Strange ;-)

Installed IO80211Family.kext and Cham 1221,
Booting is OK, I come in to the GUI, and my previous app is loading,
Mouse/Trackpad is working. BUT I cant click/activate any window and
move the curser on the dock no one is able to run,

Removing IO80211Family.kext then everything is fine to click on
window and application.

Any ide what is going on with IO80211Family.kext;-)

Peter, the tip was to remove just AirPortAtheros40.kext; you mention
IO80211Family.kext... is it a typo?
If you remove IO80211Family.kext you wont have wifi at all?!
Make sure you install the kext properly and fix permissions on it
after install with Disk Utility; kext Wizard it's approved for the
job. And try to boot with kernelcache no -v if possible.

Comment 14 by Cosmosis Jones, Jul 25, 2011

i think this is fixed now w/ the kextloading issue.
Status: Fixed

Comment 15 by Peter _sm, Jul 25, 2011

The first thing was to remove AirPortAtheros40.kext from
IO80211Family.kext, then I got WIFI to work with Cham 1221.

Step 2, Put the AirPortAtheros40.kext back to IO80211Family.kext and
installed Cham 1221, booting OK,and I cant do anything in the GUI,
all windows and top menu is loading but couldn't activate any
windows or function on the menu or start app from the dock.
couldn't do anything with the mouse.

So right now I have original O80211Family.kext installed, and can't
do anything in the GUI.

I try again to install and fix permission

Comment 16 by Peter _sm, Jul 25, 2011

Now its booting fine vid cham version 1221 ;-)

But NO WIFI and all kext in S/L/E is original. see new attached
bdmesg

Comment 17 by Peter _sm, Jul 25, 2011

False alarm, its not OK!

Booting with..

UseKernelCache=NO = No WIFI and frozen GUI
-V = Same as above.
UseKernelCache=Yes = Spinning Wheel, never going to the GUI

Update

Booted with only arch=x86_64

The GUI shows up, but I couldn't do anything, I went out for a
30minuntes, when I'm back the GUI works, so it took long time to get
all up and running ???? What can cause that behaviour ??

But NO wifi,

Perhaps my computer don't like the AirPortAtheros40.kext

So next for me is to remove this again ;-)

See new text file

Comment 19 by Peter _sm, Jul 25, 2011

Attached a kernel log for you ;-)

Comment 20 by Peter _sm, Jul 25, 2011

Update again ;-)

Back on Cham version 1203,GUI is up and running limitedly, some
issue on 1221.

Comment 21 by Peter _sm, Jul 25, 2011

New update ;.) ;.)

I found O80211Family.kext in my /Extra/Extension!!!! :-(

So removed that and used a original O80211Family.kext in /S/L/E with
cham 1221,result no WIFI and bad GUI

With AirPortAtheros40.kext removed inside O80211Family.kext in
/S/L/E
The WIFI works and GUI is normal.

That is the status right now. ;-)
Sorry I messed up things ;-)

Comment 22 by Peter _sm, Jul 25, 2011

Added some info from my system ;-)

Comment 23 by Azimutz, Jul 26, 2011

Peter, let's close the talk here.
If removing AirPortAtheros40 fixes your problem, do it for now! It's
not the first time something similar had to be done. Maybe not the
most elegant solution, but efficient :)
