Issue 269: Incorrect memory detected

Reported by Teo Baranga, Jul 10, 2012

Hello,
I think there is a problem with the memory detection, I have 12GB of
memory installed but when I boot, only 3555MB are detected in the
corner of Chameleon and also in the OS (Lion). Windows detects it
all just fine.
Might be worth saying that a have a laptop, Asus G55VW, with Intel
series 7 chipset.
I can give more specs if requested.
Thanks!

bdmesg required and all specs..

I figured the bdmesg log was pretty big so i put it on pastebin:
http://pastebin.com/3RvTspx2

My specs are:
CPU: 3rd Gen Intel i7-3610QM @ 2.3 GHz
Chipset: Mobile Intel HM77 Express
RAM: 12GB DDR3 SDRAM 1600 MHz SO DIMM 204-pin
I have no idea what kind of motherboard i have, CPU-Z shows only
"G55VW"

Anything else needed, dont hesitate to ask.
Thanks!

Same here, same system (ASUS G55VW) Took out the extra SO-DIMM, so
running with 2x4GB (8GB). OS is reporting 8 GB in 'About this Mac',
however, Activity Monitor only shows 3.5GB.

bdmesg attached.

Attachment not showing. Trying again...

Thanks for confirming that it's not my laptop that's broken. A bit
offtopic, but have you had luck with the GTX 660m?
