Thank you Fabio, I'll try that now!

I tried the Chameleon from the ro.dmg and it just made my computer reboot after a flash of white with no text readable. I tried it on two other partitions with the same result. I have a Gigabyte X58A UD3R Ver. 2 FH motherboard. I went back to Chimera 1.11.1. which just says I have a "ATI Radeon HD 5800 Series" Chipset Model...so HDMI audio is not recognized, etc. Thanks for the response though!
Comment 5 by ErmaC , Aug 15, 2012
??? ro.dmg Download the source ad compile it... Fabio
Comment 6 by David Bishop, Aug 16, 2012
I apologize for being so ignorant. I downloaded the ErmaC trunk... when I open CHameleon.xcodeproj in XCode I get "No rule to make target" I don't know where to go from here to compile. I have installed XCode terminal commands for 4.4 also.
Comment 7 by ErmaC , Aug 17, 2012
actually hard to compile from Ml+Xcode4.4. Try this precompiled revision of 2045.

That contains: boot, boot0, boot0md, and boot1h...that's all I need?
Comment 9 by ErmaC , Aug 17, 2012
Yep. You can use chameleon wizard to install it... Or you can install manually. Fabio
Comment 10 by David Bishop, Aug 18, 2012
I used 'Update' with Chameleon Wizard - and can't boot. Should I also choose 'Update more bootloader files. (/boot and boot1h)' option? or 'Boot0'? I only have OSX (1 disc snow leopard, 1 disc for ML Install and the SSD for ML). I've ML installed on the SSD but only the latest Chimera will let me boot directly to it. david
Comment 11 by David Bishop, Aug 21, 2012
I went ahead and reinstalled by erase the disk. Now in bdmesg I get the following: Failed to find boot signature on BIOS device 83h Invalid mach magic 0x2 Module 'Symbols.dylib' by 'Chameleon' Loaded. Description: Chameleon symbols for linking Version: 0 Compat: 0 Any ideas?
Comment 12 by David Bishop, Aug 24, 2012
Ok, I fixed my Chameleon boot issues...anyway, version 2045 still does not recognize my GA HD5870, neither do versions 2050, 2048, whatever...I switch between PCIRoot 1 and 0, GraphicsEnabler Yes and No, ATIRoms, you name it. I'm only pursuing this to try to squeeze out HDMI audio...any other suggestions (other than giving up ;))?

Pls post your bdmesg Fabio
Comment 14 by David Bishop, Aug 30, 2012
Hi Fabio, Well, I started getting 'Can't Verify DMI data pool' messages regardless of booting to any drives...so I purchased another x58 board. The only one at MicroCenter was an ASUS P6X58-E. I can now boot but had a devil of a time installing to my Samsung SSD drive and ML 10.8.1. It takes over 30 seconds to boot, so I know I don't have something configured right. I could not boot with anything less than the Enoch r2050 version. I would get boot0 error. I am booting slowly and I get an SSDT failed message at the start. Anyway, if you have the time to check out my current bdmesg, I would gladly compensate/donate for your time. You have already done a lot for me thanks. Here is the bdmesg. I notice it states this is an ATI Radeon EVERGREEN family card, however, my research identifies the HD5870 as a CYPRESS family card, FYI. I have the memory set to run at 1600 instead of the default 1066mH in the bios. I have not found a DSDT for this board. 889 audio and intel builtin ethernet are not recognized.
