I am currently using r1664 and have been experiencing this issue 
from prior to RC5.

I am able to boot into lion without errors or bad display configs 
UNTIL I have a power outage or physically pull the power from the 
PSU. At this point I will receive the infamous error: 

"bad display config block signature (0xaaaaaaaa)
ERROR: nVidia ROM Patching Failed!"

The only solution for this is to leave the computer unplugged or to 
remove the GFX card for up to 12 hours.

I am able to boot into Lion while receiving the Bad Display config 
however only one display will initialize and if I try anything that 
is using OpenGL or intensive graphics, the screen will go black 
(Framebuffer fails) and fill with artifacts, with no avail needing a 
reboot.

I have been plagued by this since July 21st on the day I had Lion 
working and for the first time the GTX 580 working QE/CI etc. 
However due to the fact that I can resolve it by leaving it 
unplugged (pretty inconvenient at that) I haven't bothered to submit 
an issue. (I did however comment on issue 48).

I will gladly test out potential fixes and help out any way I can to 
resolve this issue.
